RIEDEL Veritas

Setting the standard for modern glassware, yet again

The revolutionary series RIEDEL Veritas debuted in 2014 to set the standard for glassware yet again.

10th generation Georg J. Riedel challenged his Weiden factory Chief Engineer Franz Schmid and his world-class technicians to execute the finest and lightest machine-blown glasses ever made. The brief was that not only should the RIEDEL Veritas range be visually stunning and a delight to hold, but it should also be price competitive against handmade products from low-cost manufacturing countries.

The spectacular result is RIEDEL Veritas, lighter and finer while maintaining dishwasher safety, break resistance and being suitable for long-term daily use at home. Riedel's technicians accomplished their task with excellence; creating a wine glass collection for the 21st century.

Drawing on 60 years of wine experience and expertise, RIEDEL Veritas is a grape-varietal specific collection designed to enhance the enjoyment of fine wines.

The collection also offers several other firsts for the RIEDEL brand. As well as the classic RIEDEL shapes for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling and Viogner, the collection also includes two glasses for each Shiraz and Pinot Noir, for both Old World and New World styles. RIEDEL Veritas also launched the now infamous Champagne Wine Glass, an aroma-driven alternative to the conventional flute.

RIEDEL Veritas is machine-made in crystal glass. All RIEDEL glassware is dishwasher safe.

RIEDEL Veritas Champagne Wine Glass

Introducing the ‘Champagne Wine Glass’

Another first for the collection

Unlike a conventional flute, the revolutionary Champagne Wine Glass has an egg-shaped design to develop and display champagne’s complex characteristics.

“The name Champagne Wine Glass was chosen carefully and deliberately,” says 11th generation Maximilian Riedel. “Champagne is a wine and deserves to be treated as such. Whether enjoying a Blanc de Blanc or a Cuvée, the Champagne Wine Glass allows the wide range of aromas of champagne to unfold. The larger rim diameter enables the scent of the champagne to be released in a way which is not possible with a narrow flute."
