Housed in the historic Normanby Chambers building, Scott Pickett (ESP, Estelle Bistro) and the team have re-imagined the former Bistro Vue site to return the space to a European-inspired bistro – albeit with an edge.

Like its name, the fit-out pays homage to a previous era: a space where opulence and luxury served as a refuge from life outside and a chance to indulge in the finer things. The fare sees Scott and Head Chef Rob Kabboord (Quay) reference traditional techniques in a list of classic dishes with a modern edge.

Margaret was named after Neil Perry’s late mother who was the matriarch of the family, the nurturer and carer, and the one who held everyone together. These wonderful characteristics and qualities became the inspiration behind the CARE philosophy that Neil created and applied throughout his entire career as a cook, chef and restauranteur.

Produce and craft, simplicity and quality are at the heart of the restaurant, where "only the best will do" is the cornerstone for every element of the restaurant. Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant, a place where all are welcome and where memories are made.
