Fatto a Mano Performance
VENETIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP TRADITION MEETS PERFECT MACHINE BLOWING TECHNOLOGY OF THE 21ST CENTURY.
Riedel presents the Fatto A Mano Performance in 2019, a combination of two successful series, a symbiosis of artistic craftsmanship (for the stem and the base) and a precisely functioning machine (for the chalice).
The fusion of art and craftsmanship was also the basic idea of Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus. This philosophy played an important role in RIEDEL's designs at an early stage. Function and reduction to the essentials are the key parameters behind all RIEDEL products. Fatto A Mano Performance is another example of this: the reduced black in the stem or in the base creates the deliberately positioned opposite pole to the transparent chalice with an optical surface structure. This not only gives the glass an attractive appearance, but also increases its inner surface area. "Form follows function" the guiding principle of the Bauhaus style has once again been perfectly implemented.
"Fatto A Mano can therefore also be seen as a small tribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus", explains Maximilian J. Riedel, 11th generation and CEO of the family-owned business.
