Nachtmann crystal glassware has been defining affordable luxury since 1834. Glassmaker Michael Nachtmann founded the company F.X. Nachtmann in the Bavarian Forest. In 1900, Zacharias Frank took over the company and moved its headquarters to Neustadt an der Waldnaab, where it still resides.

Nachtmann joined the Riedel family of brands alongside sister brand Spiegelau in 2004. Today, Nachtmann independently operates all of its own factories, with a commitment to certified Environmental and Energy Management Systems.

As it is known today, the brand is designed to bring affordable luxury into homes. With a vast range of decorated cut crystal glass products to suit every style, Nachtmann is durable and dishwasher safe, making it perfect for everyday use.

Nachtmann Punk Collection

The PUNK glassware collection has serious attitude. Breaking away from classic design rules, PUNK stands out from the crowd. The series uses literal translations of key punk visuals – studs, spikes, grids – to design a tactile range of barware products.

Designed by student Anke Buchmann from world-famous art school Central Saint Martins in London, the range celebrates punk rock's 40th anniversary. The contemporary series came about as part of the Nachtmann NEXTGEN project, which has previously worked with the Pratt Institute in New York, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, and Musashino Art University, Tokyo.

In Anke's words, “My punk attitude smashed the image of crystal.” The series plays off punk’s distinctive and attention-seeking nature to break out of the traditional interpretation of glass homewares. Her creation sums up the future of modern glass - bold, quality, and distinctive.
