Mocktails

New Fashioned

This recipe calls for a touch of alcohol-free bourbon. Combine it with maple syrup, some aromatic bitters, and orange to make a mocktail that wonderfully replicates the classic old-fashioned recipe.

Ingredients (for one serving)
  • 60ml / 2fl.oz. alcohol-free bourbon
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 3 drops aromatic bitters
  • Orange peel, for garnish
Preparation

Add your alcohol-free bourbon, maple syrup, and aromatic bitters to your RIEDEL Rocks Glass with ice, and stir. Take a thumb-sized piece of orange peel, slightly char the outside using a lighter, and add to your mocktail for garnish.

If you enjoy the fun of making or sipping a tasty cocktail, removing that from your life without adequately replacing it can leave a void that can make it more difficult to stick to Dry January or maintain healthier drinking habits. Luckily, thanks to innovative minds and the emergence of more alcohol-free spirits in recent years, there are plenty of zero-alcohol mocktails that you can try making to make it easier to cement healthier habits.

Non-Alcoholic Margarita
We just had to provide an alcohol-free alternative for the tequila cocktail, didn’t we? A mix of citrus juices, some sweetener, lime, soda water, and salt is just what you need to serve up a mocktail that is a true tropical delight while retaining the most notable characteristics of a margarita.
Alcohol-Free Negroni
The perfect non-alcoholic substitute for the most popular of all gin cocktails. Making this mocktail is nice and simple; you just need some zero-alcohol gin, an alcohol-free Campari alternative, bitters, simple syrup, and orange peel, and you're ready to enjoy it from your RIEDEL tumbler.
