This Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée is for wines from Roussillon in the south of France. Producing 68% red wines, 28% rosés, and only 4% white wines, the primary grape used for these wines is Grenache red wine grape variety. While limited in terms of production, white wines from the appellation are said to be some of the most interesting, often producing full-bodied, oaked wines that hold a floral freshness.
