Headquarters Kufstein
The Beginning of a New Chapter
Every RIEDEL story leads back to Kufstein The history of the Riedel family has been journey marked by courage, loss, reinvention, and vision.
Across centuries, the family weathered the fall of empires, political upheaval, economic crises, and profound personal hardship - yet never lost its connection to glass. After the Second World War, everything seemed lost. The Riedel family was dispossessed of its Bohemian factories and property, and Walter Riedel, eighth generation, spent ten years imprisoned in Russia. The future of the family craft appeared uncertain. What followed was not recovery, but renewal. Through determination and belief in the craft, Walter Riedel laid the foundation for a new beginning in Austria. Kufstein became more than a location - it became a symbol of resilience, creativity, and forward momentum. From here, the RIEDEL story continues to evolve.
