Maximilian J. Riedel sitting holding a glass of wine

Join us in London and Oxford this November for two tantalising RIEDEL Wine Glass Experiences.

On Monday, November 17th at The Royal Horticultural Halls, London, and Tuesday, November 18th at The University of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, RIEDEL CEO Maximilian Riedel will demonstrate how the size and shape of a wine glass can influence our experience of a wine's aroma and flavour profile. At our RIEDEL Wine Glass Experiences, Maximilian personally guides you through the tasting, allowing you to experience first-hand the role that the glass plays in wine enjoyment, helping you elevate your future wine enjoyment.

Both events will be conducted using our Grape Varietal Specific RIEDEL Veloce Collection - our finest, lightest machine-made glassware collection that looks and feels handmade. At the end of each evening, attendees get to take home a complimentary RIEDEL Veloce Tasting Kit worth £125, containing Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Chardonnay glasses.

The Royal Horticultural Halls, London

The first wine glass experience takes place at London's Royal Horticultural Halls. This venue is steeped in tradition, having been built in 1904 following King Edward VII's calls for a purpose-built exhibition hall for horticultural shows. The venue's royal background is showcased by its dazzling character and classic Edwardian architecture, with a design that focuses on letting in as much natural light as possible.

Since its opening, this Grade II-listed building has been used to host a variety of high-profile events, ranging from sports tournaments to fashion shows, and has even served as a filming location for films, TV shows, and music videos.

This wine glass experience will begin at 7pm and will last for roughly 85 minutes. Doors open at 6pm and the bar will be open until 6.45pm, giving guests time to enjoy a drink and get settled before the wine glass tasting begins. Once the tasting has concluded, the bar will open again for 30 minutes, during which time you can browse RIEDEL glassware and talk to some of the RIEDEL UK team about any additional questions you may have.

The Bodleian Library, University of Oxford

The second evening takes us to one of Oxford’s most famous landmarks. The Bodleian Library is Oxford University's premier research library. Founded in 1602, it is one of Europe's oldest libraries and the second-largest library in Britain. This iconic building has featured in numerous TV series and films over the years, including Harry Potter, as well as hosting a variety of dinners and award ceremonies.

This event begins at 6.30pm and lasts approximately 85 minutes. Doors will open for the event at 6pm, giving guests 30 minutes to mingle before the experience begins. Glassware will again be available to purchase once the tasting has concluded and RIEDEL staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
