What is a flank steak?
One of the most popular cuts of beef in the US is the flank steak, however, it is hardly known in Germany or Austria. It sits in the abdominal area, near the bottom and is known to be lean and flavorful with lots of connective tissue and muscle fibers.
To preserve the tenderness, make sure to use high heat, a short cooking time and most important, always cut against the grain.
What is chimichurri?
The popular green herb sauce is originally from Argentina and Uruguay. Made from garlic, olive oil, vinegar, fresh herbs and chilies for a little extra spice.
Chimichurri is typically served on grilled or barbequed meat, but can also be used as a marinade or as a salad dressing.
Zubereitung
- In einem Shaker den Zitronensaft und den Agavensirup oder Honig vermengen
- Eine Prise Aktivkohle hinzufügen. Wenig reicht!
- Den Shaker mit Eis füllen und kräftig schütteln
- In ein mit Eis gefülltes Glas abseihen
- Mit Sprudelwasser oder Limonade auffüllen
- Mit einer Zitronenschale garnieren
