Enchanting Butterfly Pea Flower Tea: Blue Elixir with Color-Changing Magic
Indulge in the allure of Butterfly Pea Flower Tea – a vibrant brew renowned for its captivating blue hue and intriguing color-changing properties. Discover how this tea captivates both the eyes and the palate, making each sip a unique and delightful experience.
Ingredients
1-2 teaspoons of dried butterfly pea flowers per cup of tea and Hot Water.
Optional Ingredients for Flavor and Sweetness:- Honey, sugar, or other sweeteners
- lemon or lime juice
- Fresh mint leaves
Preparation
- Five to six flowers per cup are steeped with hot water.
- Let it steep for three to five minutes. The result is a stunning cobalt blue.
- Cooled and enhanced with a bit of coconut syrup and mint or lime, the “Butterfly Pea Flower Tea” becomes a refreshing summer drink.
A nice visual effect: Adding a few drops of lemon juice changes the color of the tea to purple. For a light red hue, you can use pink hibiscus flowers instead of lemon. Especially in cocktail mixing, the unusual play of colors is a real highlight. If you let the tea steep in 800 ml of gin for about 40 minutes and then add 2cl of it to tonic, you’ll quickly have a refreshing summer cocktail.
