Tempranillo
Having originated in Spain, this red wine grape variety is also grown widely in across the Americas and is known for ripening very early compared to other grapes. Tempranillo, which is the main grape used in Rioja wines, makes for wines that are ruby red in colour and low in acidity, with the most notable emerging flavours being leather, herbs, berries, plum, tobacco, an vanilla.
