Introducing the new Ayam Decanters

A New Instrument for Wine Enjoyment in 2021

The new RIEDEL Ayam Decanters celebrate the Art of Decanting: coloured crystal artfully formed by hand for optimum functionality.

  • Handmade in Kufstein, Austria
  • Produced in high-quality crystal glass
  • Designed for either a single bottle (750 ml equates 25.36 fl. oz.) or magnum (1500 ml equates 50.72 fl. oz.) of wine
  • 312 mm equates 12 1/4 in tall

The original Ayam Decanter, designed by 11th generation Maximilian J. Riedel in 2016, was inspired by and named after the rare breed of Indonesian hen. This innovative and functional decanter has a ‘double decanting’ function that allows younger wines to vigorously aerate thanks to an air pocket created by the design.

The decanter’s playful shape is accentuated by either Grigio (grey), Rosa (pink), or Menta (green) colour, achieved by introducing coloured crystal into the molten glass before the decanter has been formed. 10th generation Georg J. Riedel came up with these beautiful three colour variations, which were first applied to the Amadeo decanters in 2019.

As a RIEDEL hallmark, the new Ayam Decanters marry aesthetic with high functionality. They are perfectly sized for either 750ml or 1500ml of wine, ideal for small dinners or larger groups. Formed freely by hand, the decanter features a wide mouth for both receiving and pouring wine. A tapered and curled tip adds a second level of functionality to the Ayam, acting as an elegant handle.
