Ingredientes
1-2 cucharaditas de flores secas de conchita azul por taza de té y agua caliente
Ingredientes opcionales para añadir sabor y hacerlo más dulce:
- miel, azúcar u otros edulcorantes
- zumo de limón o de lima
- hojas de menta fresca
Preparation
- Five to six flowers per cup are steeped with hot water.
- Let it steep for three to five minutes. The result is a stunning cobalt blue.
- Cooled and enhanced with a bit of coconut syrup and mint or lime, the “Butterfly Pea Flower Tea” becomes a refreshing summer drink.
A nice visual effect: Adding a few drops of lemon juice changes the color of the tea to purple. For a light red hue, you can use pink hibiscus flowers instead of lemon. Especially in cocktail mixing, the unusual play of colors is a real highlight. If you let the tea steep in 800 ml of gin for about 40 minutes and then add 2cl of it to tonic, you’ll quickly have a refreshing summer cocktail.
