Ingredients

1-2 teaspoons of dried butterfly pea flowers per cup of tea and Hot Water.

Optional Ingredients for Flavor and Sweetness:

Honey, sugar, or other sweeteners
lemon or lime juice
Fresh mint leaves

Preparation

Five to six flowers per cup are steeped with hot water.
Let it steep for three to five minutes. The result is a stunning cobalt blue.
Cooled and enhanced with a bit of coconut syrup and mint or lime, the “Butterfly Pea Flower Tea” becomes a refreshing summer drink.

A nice visual effect: Adding a few drops of lemon juice changes the color of the tea to purple. For a light red hue, you can use pink hibiscus flowers instead of lemon. Especially in cocktail mixing, the unusual play of colors is a real highlight. If you let the tea steep in 800 ml of gin for about 40 minutes and then add 2cl of it to tonic, you’ll quickly have a refreshing summer cocktail.
